Perakka (guava), my first published novel, is a fruit of my feeling after watching the Vietnamese movie The House of Guavas. The film had set run a train of memories inside me. How can a Kerala boy's chilldhood be complete without guava? I hope the same feeling would be the case with everyone who read it.
I had just finished my post graduation that summer in 2003. The draft was ready in 48 hours as I went on writing hysterically. It took me another two years to see it in print. When it got out, it came in for scating criticism. It would be thankless to forget those who lent words of support.
